What are Our Grads UP to These Days?

PTW Grad Nora Continues to Excel!
4-9-24

Ms Nora who recently graduated from PTW back in September of 2023 was always a shining star in class. Her fun, sweet, positive personality always added a nice presence at the PTW program. We recently went on a visit to the JCC in Roslyn to take a tour of the program and we were so happy to see Nora behind the counter working at the cafe located with the JCC building. As always Nora had a big smile and was happy to see us all. She shared with us what she does at the cafe. It is a paying job for her and she is utilizing all her wonderful skills to be a successful worker at the cafe. Nora also noted she will be working another paid job at the Tilles Center on the campus of LIU Post where she attended PTW. PTW helped Nora gain experience within the Tilles Center building while she was a student within our program. She was well liked by the directors and staff at this wonderful performing arts center and now will be getting an opportunity at another paid position most likely starting with the month of April/May. Go Nora go, we are all so proud of you! Keep us the great work and well deserved accomplishments!   -Thomas

Bradley Gefter who recently graduated the Positive Transitions to Work program at LIU this past September has been accomplishing some impressive vocational achievements over these past few months! Bradley is currently working as an initiative leader for the organization Positive Community Connections. Every other Thursday Bradley communicates amongst a small team in planning and coordinating activities for a music themed initiative called Nassau Voice that takes place at the Brookville Church in Glen Head. The members of PCC enjoy Bradley’s music trivia that he creates on his own. Some karaoke takes place, nice socializing, and an assortment of fun games and activities are at the heart of these regular meetups. Bradley also works per diem at the Bristal Assisted Living in Garden City. He has led resident socials, played games such as word games, trivia all as part of his role as a Recreational assistant. We are proud of you Bradley, keep up the great work!
